As an Avid reseller, O'Connor's is authorised to conduct Avid Certification Courses, aimed at enhancing the skills of professionals and students. Catering to elementary, intermediate and advanced levels, these award-winning courses are designed to help you fully tap into the power of the Avid system:

• (101) Media Composer Editing
  3-day course introducing the concepts of non-linear editing and all the basic features of the Avid Media Composer systems for Windows and Macintosh. Students will use Avid Media Composer to digitise and organise source footage, edit sync and non-sync material, trim sequences, edit audio, create titles, and output work.
• (110) Introduction to Avid Media Composer Effects
  2-day course introducing basic effects, a pre-requisite for 305 Advanced Avid Media Composer Effects. Topics include creating multi-layered effects, key framing effects, creating effect templates, using AVX plug-in effects, creating motion effects and time warps, using the 3-D effects option, and nesting layers.
• (119) Editing with Avid Xpress DV and Avid Xpress Pro
  2-day course providing in-depth introduction to the techniques of non-linear editing on the Avid Xpress DV and Avid Xpress Pro systems. The class progresses through all the basic phases of creating a sequence, including inputting source footage, assembling and trimming sequences, editing audio, creating titles, and output for a finished program.
• (201) Advanced Techniques for Avid Media Composer
  2-day course designed for experienced Avid Media Composer editors who want to be more productive by mastering the system’s sophisticated editing features and shortcuts. Topics include editing features (such as Sync Point Editing and Replace Edit), advanced trimming techniques, editing and viewing options, multi-camera editing, sync audio methods, keyboard shortcuts, user settings, and capturing and recapturing tips.
• (305) Advanced Avid Media Composer Effects
  3-day course focused on designing multi-layered and multi-nested effects on Avid Media Composer. Topics include effect shortcuts and tips, advanced key framing, nesting and keying, render time reduction, using Avid Media Composer’s Paint and Animate effects, and effect media management.

We offer the basics of digital video editing to advanced effects creation, advanced editing techniques to streamline systems, media and project management, and software troubleshooting.

Training by Avid Certified Instructors is conducted on-site or on O'Connor's premises. Sessions are divided between demonstrations and hands-on practice. A combination of conceptual material, step-by-step procedures and illustrations is used to teach basic and advanced operations.
